Squads

The squad is the team, class, group or event you want to manage. The squad is the container for the people you want to organize in some way.

Create squad

To create a squad:

1. Click the "Create new squad" button at the top of the Squad section.
2. In the Squad name input field that appears, enter the name of the squad you want to create.
3. Click the "Create squad" button below the input field.

If successful the created squad should appear in the list of squads.

 

Manage squad

When you have created a squad you can manage it by clicking the Manage squad button. Here you can edit the squad name, default session name and default team names. You can also add and remove members from the squad.

Share squad

You can share the squad to your fellow coaches, colleagues or friends by clicking the Share squad button.

Squad settings

Default session name

When you create a new session for your squad, you need to add a heading to that session. Use this setting to set what the default value should be. For a sports team perhaps "Practice" is the most common session type, but for a teacher perhaps "Workgroup session" is better.

Default team names

When you generate the teams in a session, you can use this setting to set the default team names. For instance the sports team have colored vests and you want to use the colors as team names, then you can set "Red, Blue, Green, Yellow" as the default team names. For a teacher perhaps "Group 1, Group 2, Group 3" is better. Enter one team name per line.

Web calendar

Add a web calendar in the iCalendar format (ics) to create sessions automatically. Software where date planning is included often provides public links to calendars. Look out for links starting with "webcal://" and add your squads official calendar to import events automatically.

Squad members

When you have added people to the system, you can add them to the squad. You can add a person to more than one squad.

Use the checkbox next to a persons name to add or remove the person as squad member. When a person is member, you can set the strength value. The strength is a relative value between 1 and 10 to indicate the skill or strength the person have compared to other members of the squad. This value is used when weighted teams should be generated for a squad session. If that is not applicable for your squad, just leave the default value for all members.

Save your changes by clicking the Save squad button att the bottom of the page.

Create session from squad list

You can create a session for a squad using the "Create session" button next to the squad name in the lists of squads.
